  • Geoffrey W.  Hurd, CFSP, MBIE

    Geoffrey W. Hurd, CFSP, MBIE Manager

    Geoffrey is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He graduated from the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois in 1984 with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. He has been employed by the Hurdco, Inc. for most of his 24 years in the funeral business.

    Geoffrey is active in the Illinois Funeral Directors Association and served as it's President from June 0f 2007 until June of 2008. He is also a member of the Ethics Association.

    Geoffrey was awarded the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) in 1998 by the Academy of Professional Funeral Servicer Practice. Its goals; to recognize those practioners who have volunterly entered into a program of personal and professional growth, to raise and improve the standards of funeral services, and to encourage practitioners to make continuing education a life-long process in their own self interest, the interest of the families they serve, and the community in which they serve.

  • Tiffany Dowell

    Tiffany Dowell

    Tiffany, a native of Abingdon, is a licensed funeral director/embalmer and certified crematory operator. She was a 2000 Abingdon High School graduate and graduated from the Carl Sandburg College Mortuary Science Program in 2009. She is a member of the Abingdon Kiwanis club where she has served as Vice President, President and Lt. Governor; the Harry E. Wiles Post #381 Women’s American Legion Auxiliary where she served as treasurer; the Abingdon Historical Society; and Alderman for the city council of Abingdon. She was chosen as a 2017 attendee for the NFDA Meet the Mentors Program and has been a Certified Crematory Operator since 2015. Tiffany strives to provide a personalized service and honorary tribute for the families that our funeral home serve.

    In her spare time, Tiffany likes to spend time with her husband, Mathew and their three children, Bryce, Bronson and Serenity. She also likes to read, shop and spend the occasional weekend with her family at their cabin on the Mississippi.
