William L. VanWinkle, age 40, of Dahinda, Illinois, died at 2:21 P.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born on July 1, 1978 in Galesburg. He attended Knoxville High School. Surviving is his son, Tristin Lee (Mazzy Presswood) VanWinkle of Dahinda, and Tristin’s mother, Mandy Leath; his step-daughter, Kayli Nichole Wells of Galesburg; one granddaughter, Veronica; his parents, Debbie and Robert Cramer of Dahinda; his father William E. VanWinkle of Galesburg; his paternal grandfather, Virgil VanWinkle of Knoxville, Illinois; a special friend, Lacy Locke of Galesburg; his sister, Brandie (Jerry) Lair of Alexis, Illinois; his brother, Michael VanWinkle of Galesburg; and a step-brother, Todd (Kelly) Cramer of Knoxville. Also surviving is his aunt, Dorothy (Kirk) Bivens of Monmouth, Illinois; his uncle, Steven Gregg of Galesburg; as well as his nephew, nieces, many cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Phyllis Gregg; and his paternal grandmother, Barbara Van Winkle. He attended East Galesburg Community Chapel in East Galesburg, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, camping, and playing pool. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Dave Scholl will officiate. There will be no visitation.
