Wanda J. Napier, 73, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, July 30, 2020, 10:46 AM at Richard Owens Hospice House, Peoria. Wanda was born on January 27, 1947 in Canton, Illinois. She was the daughter of Alvin and Bessie (Scudder) Davis. She married Richard J. Oglesby on March 9, 1967 in Macomb, Illinois. Wanda later married Robert Napier on May 21, 1997 at the Orange Chapel Church in Rural Knoxville. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Marcy Oglesby of Maquon; stepson, Richard (Holly) Oglesby; sisters, Cheryl Neibert of Ohio and Phyllis Lark of Galesburg; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; and her grand dog, Juan Pedro. She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, one sister, three brothers, and three grandchildren. Wanda was a member of the 1965 graduating class at Valley High School. She worked at the Knox County Nursing Home in the housekeeping department, and then worked at Gale Products for 17 years until their closing. After that, Wanda worked at the former Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Knoxville for 13 years. She then worked at St. Mary Medical Center for 6 years upon which she retired. Wanda was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible of Galesburg. She loved spending time with her family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 5-7 pm, at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, 10 AM at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
