Sirana Jehzell Johnston, 19, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at 2:48 P.M. She was born on May 30, 1997 in Mulhouse, France, the daughter of David Robert Johnston and Christie (Harris) Johnston. Sirana lived for several years in Europe including France and England, and also in Bluffton, Indiana, South Carolina and also North Carolina. She and her family later moved to Knoxville, Illinois where she attended Knoxville High School and graduated from the Raes East Academy in Galesburg. Most recently, Sirana was a full time student at Carl Sandburg College. Her goal was to work towards a law degree. Sirana was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Galesburg, Illinois. She had an artistic touch to everything in life. She was a dancer and musician, playing violin and piano. Sirana enjoyed traveling, baking, and horseback riding. More than anything else, she loved her siblings and baby nephew. Sirana is survived by her parents; David Robert and Christie Johnston of Knoxville, Illinois, 2 brothers; David Alan (and Karen) Johnston of Port Washington, Wisconsin, Robert Craig Johnston of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 1 sister; Emily June Johnston of Knoxville, Illinois, 1 nephew; Liam Robert Johnston of Port Washington, Wisconsin, Grandparents; Alan L. and Jill Harris of St. George, Utah, aunts and uncles; Gail (and Mark) Oughton of Coventry, England, Dr. Craig C. (and Justine) Harris of Washington, Missouri, Major General David Alan (and Valene) Harris of Edwards Airforce Base, California, Gerald (and Allison) Hepper of Layton, Utah, and many cousins. Sirana is also survived by her dear friend, Tyler Milam of Creston, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, David Alexander and June Johnston. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Galesburg, Illinois. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. Bishop Todd Hendrickson will be officiating the service. A memorial service will be held in St. George, Utah at a later date.
