Sherril 'Gene" Denly

Sherril “Gene” Denly, age 86, of Bushnell, Illinois died at 9:15 A.M. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Roseville Rehab & Care Center in Roseville, Illinois. He was born on October 22, 1935 in Osceola, Iowa, the son of Pearl W. and Neita (Simmerman) Denly. He married Peggy Sankey on July 23, 1955 in Winterset, Iowa. Surviving is his wife, Peggy Denly of Bushnell, Illinois; two daughters: Kim D. (Jasper) Ford of Bushnell, Illinois and Kelly J. (Joseph) LeFebvre of Colona, Illinois; three grandchildren: Stephen (Jenny) LeFebvre of Chesterfield Twp., Michigan, Joshua (Monica) LeFebvre of East Moline, Illinois, Tashina (Jessie) Carter of Bushnell, Illinois; five great grandchildren: LauraLei Cunningham of Bushnell, Illinois, Shawn LeFebvre of Chesterfield Twp. Michigan, Gwendolyn LeFebvre of Chesterfield Twp. Michigan, Dorian Allison of Davenport, Iowa, and Joselynn LeFebvre of East Moline, Illinois. Also, one sister, Judy Antoine of Galesburg, Illinois, one niece, Rene Antoine of Bushnell and one nephew Derek (Amy) Antoine of Galesburg, Illinois; one great niece, Phoebe Antoine of Galesburg, Illinois and one great nephew, Rhys Antoine of Galesburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronnie and Blaine. He worked as Chief Tool & Die Designer for the former OMC in Galesburg, Illinois for 42 years, he then was manager of Manufacturing or OMC at Spruce Pines, North Carolina. He enjoyed Camping in his Motorhome and hunting and boating especially, waterskiing and fishing. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Cremation Rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Mosaic at 216 N. Lafayette St., Macomb, Illinois.
