Scott A. Kniss

Scott A. Kniss, 51 of Galesburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.

Scott was born on August 4, 1971 in Galesburg. He was the son of Dale F. and Phyllis (Bergner) Kniss. Scott is survived by his mother, Phyllis of Galesburg; siblings, Donnie (Rhonda) Tucker of Knoxville, Gary (Patricia) Tucker of Muscatine, IA and Susan (Russell) LaRose of Galesburg; his aunt, Dorothy Armstrong of Seattle, WA; an uncle, Bob Kniss of Galesburg; cousins, Mary Arnold and Tim (Wendy) Begner of Princeville and Mike Hammer of Dubuque; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

Scott was a 1989 graduate of Knoxville High School. After graduating, Scott attended Carl Sandburg College for two and a half years.  He worked in real estate with his father, Dale. Scott loved music and his guitars. He had been playing guitar since he was 14 years old. Scott was a gentle and kind soul, who had a special spot for all the animals at the house, his special cat, Sabrina, and his mother, whom he took extraordinary care of after his father passed.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family graveside will be held at a later date. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory have been entrusted with the arrangements.
