Sandra M. Rutledge, age 73, of Galesburg, Illinois died on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 7:45 P.M. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. Sandra was born November 14, 1946 in Knox county to the daughter of Thomas and Velda (Howarter) Putnam. She graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1964 and also graduated from Personal Training Institute in Omaha, Nebraska the same year. She married Herb Cole in 1967. She later married David Wayne Rutledge on July 12, 1991. Sandra is survived by her husband, David Rutledge; two daughters, Kari Marie Cole and Jennifer Collinson and five sons: Kevin (Becca) Cole, Steven (Valeria) Cole, Chris Rutledge, Mike Rutledge and Tim Rutledge. She also has sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; her remaining brother, Thomas Earl Putnam. She was preceded in death by her parents, a set of twin brothers, and one granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth . She worked three years at the former Admirals, five years at the former W.T. Grant, ten years at the former Wonder Bread, and worked at Dave’s Cycling and Fitness with her husband for twelve years until her retired in 2003. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private Graveside Services will be held at the Gilson Cemetery, Gilson, Illinois. The family requests NO FLOWERS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, 1855 Windish Drive, Galesburg, Illinois, 61401. Sandra and her husband have eight rescue dogs from the Knox County Human Society.
