Ruth Ann "Rudy" Alstedt

Ruth Ann “Rudy” Alstedt, age 77, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 3:13 P.M. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

 

She was born on May 30, 1945 in Monmouth, Illinois the daughter of Dale C. and Martha C. (Meredith) Hull. She married Joel “Joe” L. Alstedt on February 14, 1976 in Alexis, Illinois. He preceded her in death June 24, 2018.

 

Surviving are her children: Charlie (Susan) Johnson of Spring Hill, Kansas, Denise (Donald) Johnson of Galesburg, Illinois, Tracy (Keith) Robbins of  Rio, Illinois, Morine (Brad) Goff of Knoxville, Illinois; one son-in-law, Steve Sagona of Dahinda, Illinois; ten grandchildren, one step granddaughter, and six great grandchildren. Her siblings: Jack Hull and Danny Hull, both of Monmouth, Illinois, Janet (Ed) Nelson, Martha “Mart” Hull, and Barbara (Gus) Acevedo, all of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, half-brother, Bob, step-daughter, Tammy Sagona and one brother Gary.

 

She worked for Smurfit-Stone Company in Galesburg for thirty-five years. She loved her grandchildren, watching them in sports. She enjoyed watching “Gunsmoke” and was an avid pet lover.

 

A Celebration of life be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM to ? at 497 East Berrien Street, Galesburg, IL 61401. Joe and Ruth’s cremains will be scattered at the East Linwood Scattering Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
