Ronald W. Formhals

Ronald Wayne Formhals passed away January 21, 2021 at 10:14 P.M., at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, with family and close friends by his side. He was born the son of William Glenn Formhals and Eva Eileen (Schisler) Formhals on July 10, 1941. He married Joyce Syrkel in Oneida at the United Methodist Church on November 7, 1965. Ron is survived by two brothers, Richard (Sheila) Formhals of Sequin, Washington and William Stanley (Selma) Formhals of Lewistown; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Pat Formhals of Galesburg; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ulyesses Leon and infant brother, George. He worked at OMC for 21 years where he was Supervisor of Inspection. In 1982, along with his wife, Joyce, he started Formhals, Inc. which is based in Knoxville. Ron enjoyed many hobbies, along with his fine cars. He was fun loving and a very generous person and always enjoyed having people around. Visitation will be from 11 A.M – 1 P.M., on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Community Bible Church, 1369 Knox Hwy 8, Knoxville, IL 61448. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1 P.M. at the church. Burial will be at the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida. Due to COVID-19, face masks and social distancing will be required. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice, Knox County Humane Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
