Romona D. Stickell, age 87 of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:49 P.M. on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on April 7, 1928 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Curtis and Marie Scott Stickell. She attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1946. She then attended and graduated from Brown’s Business College in Galesburg, Illinois. Surviving is her twin brother, Robert G. (Dorothy) Stickell of Knoxville, Illinois; Two nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harold Stickell. She worked as a bookkeeper for the former Galesburg Mental Health Research in Galesburg, Illinois, then Henry C. Hill Correctional Center in Galesburg, Illinois. She was a member of the Knox County Historical Sites, the Harry C. Philblad American Legion Post #729 Auxiliary, and the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville, Illinois. She loved her cats. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:15 P.M. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Dan Lybarger will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Knoxville United Methodist Church or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
