Rogers Lofgren

Rogers Lofgren, 91, of Dahinda, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021, 7:40 PM, at his home surrounded by his family. Rogers was born on September 15, 1929 in Galesburg. He was the son of Theodore and Maude (Weedman) Lofgren. He married the love of his life, Christine Goff on December 14, 1968 in Knoxville. Rogers is survived by his wife, Christine; children, Douglas (Jenni) Lofgren of Dahinda, and Teresa (Clayton) Chandler of Lake Villa; two grandsons, Jake and James; and a great-grandson, Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rogers graduated from Galesburg High School. He served as a tank driver for the United States Army during the Korean War. He was proud of being a veteran, and was honored with being an attendee for the 2015 Greater Peoria Honor Flight. He was a carman for over 35 years at Burlington Northern Rail Road before he retired. He also ran a body shop out of his garage for 20 years. Rogers enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed playing cards with his buddies in Williamsfield and playing board games with anyone who would accept his challenge, he also had no problem letting you know when he was winning. He had a great sense of humor and often times was a little bit ornery but he loved making people laugh. Most of all, Rogers loved to spend time with his family and friends. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville have been entrusted with arrangements.
