Raymond L. Powell

Raymond L. Powell, age 79, of Yates City, Illinois died at 10:39 P.M. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. He was born on July 15, 1936 in Keytesville, Missouri the son of Raymond L. and Ruby Echols Powell. He married Alma J. Westfall on August 20, 1993 in Macomb, Illinois. Surviving are his two sons: Raymond Allen Powell of Galesburg, Illinois and Douglas Lee Powell of Galesburg, Illinois; Step-sons: Dewey (Becky) Collins of Galesburg, Illinois and Larry Collins of Galesburg, Illinois; one grandchild, one great-grandchild, four step-grandchildren and five great step grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Ann Painter of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Local 649 Operating Engineers of Peoria, Illinois. He served in the United States Army from January 1954 to January 1957. Funeral Services will be held at 11A.M. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
