Patricia I. Folkland

Patricia I. Folkland, 78, of Maquon, Illinois, died at 9:12 P.M. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Saint Vincent`s Home in Quincy, Illinois. She was born on May 14, 1938 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Wayne and Fannie Likes Thurman. Patricia graduated from Spoon River Valley High School. She then attended Cottage Hospital School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse. She began her nursing career with Galesburg Cottage Hospital, then Dr. Bohan of Galesburg, Illinois, then finally 30 years with the American Red Cross in Galesburg and Peoria, Illinois. She enjoyed reading, doing crafts and crocheting. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Debra Christner of Plymouth, Illinois, two grandchildren: Jarrod Folkland of Macomb, Illinois and Nicole Christner of Plymouth, Illinois; two great-grandchildren: Juleeus Fisher of Plymouth, Illinois and Courtney Campbell of Wataga, Illinois; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister; LaWanda Griffin. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Burial will be held at a later date.
