Norma Strom

Norma M. Strom, age 88, of Victoria, Illinois died at 9:15 A.M. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois. She was born on April 14, 1927 in Seymore, Indiana the daughter of Claude and Fannie Wilkerson Jaynes. She married Willard Strom, Sr. in 1944 in Seymore, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1972. Surviving is her son: Willard Strom, Jr. of Victoria, Illinois; three grandchildren: Teresa “Terri” Chandlee of Williamsfield, Illinois, Jennifer “Jenny” (Jeff) Nichols of Galesburg, Illinois, and Eric (Ali) Strom of Knoxville, Illinois; thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters: Mildred Jaeger and Sandra; and one brother, Wilbur. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Jack, one grandson, Michael, half-brother, Roscoe; brothers, Harold and Homer, and two sisters, Dorothy and Ruth. She worked at the Victoria Grade School as a janitor from 1973 until she retired in 1990. She also worked from time to time at the former Hospitality House in Victoria over the years. She was a member of the Charles A. Warrensford American Legion Post #729 Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed painting ceramics and reading. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Oneida, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Oneida, Illinois. Interment will be in the Victoria Cemetery, Victoria, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the family.
