Nancy C. Stephens

Nancy C. Stephens, age 64, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 3:25 P.M. at the OSF Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois. Nancy was born on May 2, 1953 in Pittsfield, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Doris (Peterson) Cooley. She married Edward Lewis in Dahinda, Illinois, and they share three sons together. She later married Jan “Bear” Stephens on September 29, 1996 in Galesburg, Illinois. Surviving is her husband; her sons: Joel (Kim) Lewis of Knoxville, Illinois, Christopher Michael (Suzy) Lewis of Dahinda, Illinois, Travis (Janelle) Lewis of Peoria, Illinois; her grandchildren: Nolan, Jaxson, Elliot, Piper Grace, Colbie, Lincoln, E. J. Lewis; her sister: Sharon (Terry) Farquer of Dahinda, Illinois; two brothers: Charlie (Karen) Cooley of Dahinda, Illinois, Keith (Teresa) Cooley of Wyoming, Illinois; her mother: Doris Cooley of Knoxville, Illinois; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. She received her C.N.A. certificate from Carl Sandburg College and enjoyed working as a nursing assistant in the medical and home health care fields. She also enjoyed socializing with others, including on the phone and through Facebook. Nancy loved watching the Saint Louis Cardinals and watching Packer games with “Bear” and Pica. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dahinda Methodist Church in Dahinda, Illinois. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 P.M., also at the Dahinda Methodist Church, Rev. Jennifer Seder officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dahinda Methodist Church.
