Mary Jo Miller

Mary Jo Miller, 79, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away at 2:57 A.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. Mary Jo was born May 15, 1937 in Canton, Illinois the daughter of George and Louise (Cutshaw) Tuthill. She was a graduate of Knoxville High School, and worked for over 30 years in the mental health field for Galesburg Mental Health and later Zeller Mental Health. She enjoyed painting, traveling, playing cards, and spending time with the Senior Circle. She also loved her pigs and visiting all the local restaurants. The Galesburg and Knoxville restaurants have lost a loyal customer. Mary Jo was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She loved spending time and chatting with her family. She had an ability to reach and touch everyone in a deep and positive way. Everyone was family to her. Mary will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. She is survived by her 2 children; Susan Miller of Knoxville, Steven (and Rhonda) Miller of Galesburg, 6 grandchildren; Megan (and Dan) Miller of Knoxville, Katie (and Anthony) Miller of Champaign, Garrett (and Lacey) Miller of Galesburg, Illinois, Taylor Miller of Florida, Danielle (and Rick) Allen of Abingdon, Luke (Kierra) Ryan of Galesburg, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters; Dottie Lovell of Galesburg, Carol (and Bud) Weber of Knoxville, Bonnie (and David) Hahn of Farmington, and 1 brother; Mike (and Karen) Tuthill of Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville. The funeral service will take place Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville. Pastor Melinda Bern will officiate. Interment will be at the Knoxville Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held after the services at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
