Mary Ann Pedigo, 56, of Galesburg, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Mary Ann was born on October18, 1966 in Galesburg. She was the daughter of Edward and Mary (DeCommer) Rohweder. Mary Ann married the love of her life, Richard “Rick” Pedigo on June 4, 1988 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Wataga. Together, they celebrated 35 years of marriage. Surviving Mary Ann are her husband, Rick of Galesburg; daughter, Becka (Mario) Maldonado of Colona, IL; granddaughters, Kensley and Gracie; siblings, George Rohweder of Cookeville, TN, Greg Rohweder of Oneida and Jeff (Paige) Rohweder of Oneida. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Paul Pedigo.

Mary Ann was a 1985 graduate of ROVA High School. She then went on to achieve her Associates in Applied Science in Nursing at Carl Sandburg College and then her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capella University. Mary Ann had an enriching 18year career in nursing starting as a travel nurse and working at OSF St. Francis, John George Psychiatric Hospital in CA, Vanderbilt in TN and finishing her career at DD Homes, Galesburg. Mary Ann loved being a nurse and her patients. She was a huge advocate for patient needs and rites. She was always compassionate and stood up for what she felt was right. Mary Ann enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafting and “running the show.” She was an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan. She loved her animals Roxie, Moonshine, Xena and dubbed the “Chicken Grandma” by Kensley and Gracie due to taking care of her four chickens. Mary Ann missed her son, Paul and is now reunited with him after 5 years.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be held from 1-3 PM, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center, 126 South Public Square, Knoxville. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory, Knoxville have been entrusted with her arrangements. Memorials may be donated to the family in care of Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, 120 South Public Square, Knoxville, IL 61448.
