Marjorie Sand

Marjorie Sue (Brunner) Sand, Age 90, passed at 8:45 P.M. on Saturday, June 6, 2020. She was surrounded by those who loved her. She was born in Texarkana, Texas on October 10, 1929, the daughter of Ernst and Susie (Fant) Brunner. Her family located in Galesburg when she was eight years old. Marjorie attended and graduated from Galesburg Schools, and was also a student at Bradley University in Peoria. She married Keith R. Sand, on May 9, 1953 at the First Christian Church in Galesburg. Keith preceded her in death on September 4, 2012. They were married 59 years. Surviving, is a daughter, Marilyn Sue Sand of Maquon and a son, Gary K. Sand of Galesburg. She also has 2 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ernst Brunner and one nephew, David Brunner. Marjorie cherished her role as a mother and homemaker. She was always ready to attend horse events, care shows and family gatherings. She was the first one in the care with her purse on her lap, ready for an adventure! Marjorie and Keith spent over 25 winters in Alamo, Texas, surrounded by a loving group of fellow retirees and friends. They filled many days traveling the USA in search of new discoveries. Marge’s infectious laugh and love of life was an inspiration for all. Spontaneity was her middle name! Al Celebration of her life will be this fall.
