Marjorie A. Cottom, age 76, of Wataga, Illinois died at 8:40 A.M. on Thursday, January 31st, 2019 at her home in rural Wataga. She was born on February 2, 1942 in Yates City, Illinois the daughter of Roland and Evelyn (Savage) LaFollette. She attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1960. She married Ronald W. Cottom on May 19, 1962 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg, Illinois. Surviving is her husband, Ronald Cottom of rual Wataga, Illinois; brother-in-law, Frank Walker of Knoxville, Illinois; a daughter Kim (and Todd) Wollrab of Victoria, Illinois; two grandchildren, Michele Berg (Caleb), Andrew Wollrab (Kylee); and three great-grandchildren: Aria Happ, Alexis Happ, and Zacary Wollrab. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patricia Walker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg, Illinois. She worked with her husband as a bookkeeper for Cottom’s Trucking. A Celebration of Life will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Knoxville. Interment will be at the Oneida Cemetery in Oneida, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or the Galesburg Rescue Mission.
