Marilyn Williams

Marilyn G. Williams, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed into the arms of the Lord, Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:20 P.M. She was born on April 4, 1934 in Cameron, Illinois the daughter of Melvin and Marjorie (Anjal) Dowell. She attended Galesburg High School and graduated in 1951. She first married Ronald C. Morehead in January of 1952. They had the following children: Michael (Shawna Barlow) Morehead of Galesburg, Rhonda (Ed) Markert of Knoxville, and Daniel Morehead of Galesburg. In Dec. 1963 she married Earl W. Williams. They had Crystal Ewing of Springfield, Illinois. For 28 years Marilyn worked for Pizza Hut as Manager of the East Main Store. Marilyn had six brothers, Dick, John, David, Steve, Doug, and Jeff Fisher all of Ohio and three sisters, Janet Humphreys of Florida, Arlene Tackett and Wanda Fisher of Ohio. Marilyn had eleven grandchildren, Preston (Michelle) Morehead, Shawn (Emily) Morehead, Scott (Samantha) Morehead, Jarrod Anderson, Erin (Steve Priesner) Waymoth, David Turley, Sarah (Nate) Lipe, Brandon (Chelsea) Ewing, Ryan (Kara) Ewing, Danielle (Chris) Cesal and Dustin Morehead McCormick, preceded her. She also had 20 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, one grandson and one great grandson. She is survived by four kids, ten grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. Marilyn had many hobbies over the years, Cooking, Crafting, and Genealogy being her life long loves! She enjoyed spending time in Park Co. Indiana, attending the Covered Bridge Festival and Turkey Run State Park. She loved spending time with her family most. Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois. Pastor Jeremy Kilgore will officiate. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Knox County Genealogical Society in care of Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
