Lois A. Heckart

Lois Ann Heckart, age 83, of London Mills, Illinois, died at 6:25 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the OSF Saint Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on July 12, 1935 in Galesburg, the daughter of Darwin and Lois (Wilson) Nesbit. She was reared and educated in the London Mills area, graduating from the Spoon River Valley High School. On November 28, 1959, Lois was married to Glenn Heckart in London Mills. Glenn preceded her in death on December 30, 2005. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper. Lois is survived by her children: Brit Heckart of London Mills, Jay (and Christina) Heckart of Lewistown, Illinois; four grandchildren: Jamie (and Jennifer) Mitchell, Brittany Hobbs, Cody Heckart, Tiffany Lingenfelter; two step-grandsons: Ashtin Tafflinger, Aaron Johnson; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Exess of Knoxville, Darla Ray of Maquon; one sister-in-law, Norma Nesbit of Galesburg; and one brother-in-law, Gilbert Lewis of Maquon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Roxanne Lingenfelter; two brothers: Larry Nesbit, Fred Nesbit; and one sister, Linda Lewis. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
