Linda Mae Underwood

Linda Mae Underwood, 89, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at her home on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:12 A.M. Linda was born February 5, 1927 in Harlan, Kentucky the daughter of Norman and Mabel (Benge) Adams. She married Thomas Richard Underwood Sr. on June 29, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2008. Linda was very active with the Galesburg VFW Post #2257 and the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, fishing and camping. She is survived by her 5 children; Linda Rae Taylor of New Port Richey, Florida, Thomas R. (and Karen) Underwood Jr. of Galesburg, Illinois, Norman J. (and Susie) Underwood of Galesburg, Donald D. (and Kathy) Underwood of Rio, Roger W. (and Debbie) Underwood of Galesburg, 3 sisters; Edith Salisbury of Missouri, Betty McKenzie of Arkansas, Marilyn Grimm of Iowa, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 7 brothers and sisters. Cremation rites will be accorded with the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
