Lillian Ann Hanson

Lillian Ann Hanson, age 98, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away on February 3, 2018 at 7:04 P.M. at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville. She formerly was a resident of Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on August 15, 1919, in Perronville, Michigan to Adolph and Marcianna (Orzel) Godlewski. In 1939 Lillian married James LaPointe in Stephenson, Michigan at the Precious Blood Catholic Church. In 1956 Lillian married Arvey Hanson in Galesburg, Illinois. Lillian worked as a Practical Nurse for many years and then owned her own beauty salon. Lillian was a resident of Ellenton, Florida for thirty years, from 1985 to 2016, when she returned to Illinois. She was a member of the White Shrine, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagle Lodge and Moose Lodge. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; five sisters; and husbands. Lillian is survived by daughters: Maureen Hornung of Jackson, Wisconsin, Phyllis (Henry) Kelso of East Galesburg, Illinois; son Wayne (Irene) LaPointe of Muskegon, Michigan; and step-daughter Marilyn (Gene) Griffin of Lynn Haven, Florida. She is also survived by grandsons: Mark Kelso of Parrish, Florida, Jamie (Pam) Hornung, Jon Hornung, both of Jackson, Wisconsin, Jeffrey (Maki) Hornung of Wheaton, Maryland, Dwayne (Tamra) LaPointe of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Darren (Kirsi) LaPointe of Grand Haven, Michigan; and step-grandsons: Steven Griffin and Bruce Griffin, both of Florida. Also surviving are sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of Lillian's life at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois from 1:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Pastor Pam Marolla will officiate.
