Larry G. Eagle, 73, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:25 A.M. at the Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Larry was born on April 10, 1943 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Harold G. and Evelyn Mae (Yelm) Eagle. He was raised by his grandparents, Ulysses and Mary Eagle in the Galesburg area. He graduated from Galesburg High School with the class of 1961. Larry was a gifted mechanic and fabricator. He worked as a welder for Bixby Zimmer/US Filter for 38 years. Larry had a passion for antique John Deere tractors. He was a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was also baptized in the Wataga Congregational Church. Larry loved his cat and best friend “Fur Ball”. He is survived by his 2 children; Gene (and Heidi) Eagle of Mt. Zion, Illinois, Ashley (and Curt) Bealer of Galesburg, Illinois, 6 grandchildren; Jakob Eagle, Lukas Eagle, Claire Eagle, Christopher Bealer, Elizabeth Bealer, Craig Kelly, 1 brother; Roger (and Pam) Eagle of Knoxville, Illinois, and 1 nephew; Tim (and Angela) Eagle of Knoxville, Illinois. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; Harold and Evelyn Eagle, and his grandparents, Ulysses and Mary Eagle. Cremation rites will be accorded with the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. A fellowship meal will be provided at the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg, Illinois on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
