Judith A. "Judy" Greene

June 13, 1939 — November 24, 2018

Judith A. “Judy” Greene passed away November 24, 2018 at the Knox County Nursing Home. She was born June 13, 1939 to Jim and Mildred (Sheridan) Anderson. There were three sisters and five brothers. Judy was born on June 13, 1939 in Galesburg. She Graduated Knoxville High School and lived in the Knoxville area her entire life. Judy married Lawrence “Lefty” Moore and had three sons, Tim (Sherri) Moore of Galesburg, David Moore of Lake Bracken and Roger Moore. One of which Roger, preceded her in death. Lawrence passed away August 15, 1984. She married Russell W. “Bill’” Greene in 1987 who had two children: Keith “Opie” (Mimi) Greene of Knoxville and a daughter, Kari (Jarod) Buckman of Maquon who survive from a previous marriage. Bill passed away Feb 7, 2018. In addition to the immediate children and step-children there are four grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, one step-great grandchild and 4 great grandchildren. She was very active in the community in various organizations and the Knox County Fair. She took great pride in being a driving force for the Gazebo that sits in the Knoxville public square. Even though she did none of them as a profession her talents were diverse: cooking, sewing, artwork and furniture refinishing just to name a few. However, her greatest talents were the willingness to stay in the background while supporting the ones she loved anyway she could and facing any difficulty head on. The world was a better place with her in it. Per her request there will be only a private graveside service on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at 2pm, memorials may be made to the Knoxville Fire Department. On-line condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Judith A.
