Jimmie A. Johnson, age 76, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 3:30 A.M. at his home in Galesburg, Illinois. Jimmie was born on May 14, 1941 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Gene and Wanda Lee Herrington Johnson. He attended and graduated from Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Illinois. He married Laurel MacDonald on May 27, 1972 in Knoxville, Illinois. Surviving his is wife, Laurel Johnson of Galesburg, Illinois; one daughter: Lacie (Clarence) Lamb of Galesburg, Illinois; one son, Clayton “Clay” Johnson of Peoria, Illinois; one granddaughter: Lexie Johnson of Galesburg, Illinois; two brothers: Micheal (Margie) Johnson, and Rodney Johnson, both of Galesburg, Illinois; four sisters: Colleen (Joe) Tribley, Jackie Cadwell, Gail Soper, all of Galesburg, Illinois and Sherry Ashbey of Abingdon, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He worked for the former OMC of Galesburg, Illinois for twenty-two years and then KCCDD of Galesburg, Illinois for fifteen years. He enjoyed fishing. Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services at this time. The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
