Georgia L. Shores

Georgia L. Shores, age 82 of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois. Georgia was born on May 2, 1935 in Dahinda, Illinois the daughter of Lloyd and Laura E. (Ott) Howard. She graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1953. She married Claude Shores on October 10, 1953 in LaFayette, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1983. Surviving are her children: Claudia Oakley of Galesburg, Illinois, Gene (Paula) Shores of Knoxville, Illinois, Mike Shores of Knoxville, Illinois, Steven Shores of Altona, Illinois, Laura (Arnie) Carlson of Little York, Illinois, Richard (Shirley) Shores of Knoxville, Illinois, and Ronald (Tiny) Shores of Virginia; Eighteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchildren due in February. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother: Frank, Lloyd, Harold, John and Everett Howard; her sisters: Luella Roy, Marie McMeen, Irma Briggs and Elaine Lashbrook. Inurnment will be at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home or Hospice Compassus.
