Gene F. Lingenfelter

Gene F. Lingenfelter of Canton, formerly of Maquon, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 5:40 A.M. at the Heartland Health Care Center in Canton, Illinois. Gene was born December 22, 1928 in Canton, Illinois the son of Floyd and Wealthy (Betts) Lingenfelter. He served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. and after returning home he reenlisted with the United States Army. After the military Gene worked as a locomotive engineer. He is survived by his 5 children; Deidre, Kirk, Becky, Jon, Jr., Brian, and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Floyd and Wealthy Lingenfelter, and his wife; Marlene Lingenfelter. A graveside memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethel Cemetery in rural Canton.
