Frances M. Straus

Frances M. Straus, 89, of East Galesburg, Illinois passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 9:40 PM. She was born April 27, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Celia Hall. She was a graduate of Galesburg High School. Frances married Edwin Straus in Jacksonville, Illinois on December 5, 1948. Frances enjoyed ball room dancing with her husband, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the East Galesburg Community Chapel. She worked for Gale, Sears, and the McCunes Oil Station. She is survived by her husband; Edwin Straus of East Galesburg, 2 grandchildren; Sommer McIntyre of East Galesburg, Tausha (Brodie) Grice of East Galesburg, 5 great-grandchildren; Lane Grice, McKennon Grice, Jaxson Grice, Blake Grice, and Garrett Grice. She was preceded in death by her 2 daughters; Shelly Straus, Jacqueline McIntyre, sister; June Witherbee, 3 brothers; Fred Hall, Ed Hall, and Lee Hall. A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
