Ervin Leroy Morris, 83, of Knoxville, Illinois passed away at his home at 9:23 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2018. Ervin was born on April 13, 1935 in Chestnut Township, Illinois, the son of Frank Hugh Morris and Nydia Marie (Skinner) Morris. He graduated from Spoon River Valley High School in 1953. He later attended Carl Sandburg College. Ervin married Evelyn D. Bush on June 19, 1954 in Abingdon, Illinois. Ervin farmed for over 40 years in the Chestnut Township area. He was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau and the Community Bible Church of Knoxville. Ervin is survived by his wife; Evelyn Morris of Knoxville, Illinois, 2 sons; Allen (Sylvia) Morris of Ham Lake, Minnesota, Steve (Val) Morris of Knoxville, Illinois, 6 grandchildren; Craig Morris, Angie (Morris) Thorn, Holly (Morris) VanMetre, Dusty Wright, Angela Demling, Alex Becker, 8 great-grandchildren; Harper Morris, Roman Dvorak, Jackson, Bodhi, and Leto Becker, Ashley and Tyler Zimmerman and 1 brother-in-law; Jim Hook of Abingdon, Illinois. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Nydia Morris, and 1 sister; Betty Hook. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois, the funeral service will directly follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at the Knoxville Cemetery. Pastor Bill White of Community Bible Church, will be officiating the services. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center. Memorial contributions may be left to the family or Harbor Lights Hospice.
