Dwight W. Clark, 91, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 9:45 A.M. at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Dwight was born on March 23, 1928 in Aledo, Illinois, the son of Dolph Sherman Clark and Dottie Ann (Heck) Clark. He received his education from the Fruit Hill School and Maquon High School. He married Bertha JoAnn Sherman on February 15, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Dwight farmed for many years in the Gilson and Maquon areas. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg. He is survived by his loving wife, Bertha JoAnn Clark of Knoxville; son Gary (Betsy) Clark of Columbia, Missouri; adopted daughter, Linda Wexell of Galesburg; 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Brian, and Lisa, all of Missouri; 5 great-grandchildren, Quinn, Kian, Vivian, Bovey, and Rosalyn; 1 adopted grandson; 3 siblings, Paul (Dora Jean) Clark of Gilson, Patricia (Chester) Just of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, and Nancy Bird of Princeville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Dolph, Bob, and George. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg, Illinois. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday December 18 at 10:30 A.M. at the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg. Pastor Scott Wilson will be officiating the services. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Gilson Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be left to the Galesburg Rescue Mission. The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois is assisting the family with arrangements.
