Dean Howard Mosher, 95, formerly of Galva, died on Sunday, June 28, 2020, 1:30am at Marigold Rehab and Nursing Center, Galesburg. Dean was born on July 2, 1924, in Lynn Township. He was the son of Ervin and Emma (Hammerland) Mosher. He met the love of his life, Betty E. Miller and together they spent 50 wonderful years. Dean is survived by his blood nephew, Jerry (Viki) Fox and surrogate nephews, Dave (Marcy) Johnson, Charles (Bill Hanson) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; love of his life, Betty; siblings and his special surrogate nephew Gary Johnson. Dean was raised in the Victoria area. Dean was a World War II veteran. He served in the Navy, starting as 1st Mate and made the rank of Captain. He graduated from University of Illinois and Blackburn College. He was a television repair man for 40 years, even taking Gary on some of his calls. Gary and Betty were his life, he made sure to center his day around them both. Dean was very strict about keeping a routine and took great pride in the home that Betty and he shared. Dean’s hobbies included coin collecting and mowing his yard. He loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with him. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremated remains will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020, 10:00am at Victoria Cemetery. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.hurdhendricks.com.
