Dale Harlan Hanson, 92, of Knoxville, Illinois passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville. Dale was born July 1, 1924 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Axel and Mae (Glore) Hanson. He graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1942. He married Eileen Sheetz in Knoxville on November 23, 1950. Dale was a gifted carpenter and electrician. He worked as an electrician for Gale Products for 12 years. He also rebuilt his family’s home in Knoxville and built the Gil Hebard Guns facility in Knoxville. Dale also enjoyed gardening and model trains in his younger years. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Galesburg, Illinois. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Hanson, of Knoxville, 3 children, Mark Hanson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ruth (and Steven) Arthur of Eminence, Indiana, and Paul Hanson of Indianapolis, Indiana, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Axel and Mae, 1 sister, Evalee DeRooj, and 1 brother, George Hanson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Galesburg, Illinois. Fellowship will follow at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center at 4:00 PM. Cremation rites will be accorded with the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
