Connie M. Pinckney, 66, of Galesburg, passed away at home on Friday, September 30, 2022.

Connie was born on November 1, 1955 in Galesburg. She was the daughter of Calvin C. and Delores A. (Billups) Erickson. She married Michael T. Harding in Cahokia, Missouri. She later married Michael “Mickey” W. Pinckney on July 19, 1996 in Galesburg. Together Connie and Mickey celebrated fourteen years of marriage until he preceded her in death on December 1, 2009. Connie is survived by her children, Brande (Mark) Kelly of Milwaukee, WI, Terri Harding of Galesburg; step children, Michael (Jodie) Pinckney of Tobaccoville, N.C. Jeffrey Pinckney of Booneville, NC and Chad Pinckney of Galesburg, IL. She had 13 grandchildren. siblings, Jim (Sharon) Erickson of Wonder Lake, IL and Rodney Erickson of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mickey and one grandchild.

Connie completed the Certified Nurses Assistant at Carl Sandburg College. She worked as a waitress at Midway on Grand Avenue, and then went on to work as a CNA for the Knox County Nursing Home. Connie worked in the Packaging Department at United Facilities until her retirement. She was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. She loved to bowl, crafting, painting, embroidery, watching old westerns and gardening. She will forever be known for her kind soul and doing random acts of kindness. Most of all, Connie loved to spend time with her family.

Cremation rites have accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Private family burial of cremated remains will be held at Oaklawn Memorials Gardens, Galesburg. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville are in charge of arrangements.
