Christine R. “Chris” Sharp, 57 of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Chris was born on June 23, 1965 in Galesburg. She was the daughter of Theodore “Ted” and Ruth M. (Johnson) Larson. She married Darren Sharp on June 24, 2004 at Kauai, Hawaii. Chris is survived by her loving husband, Darren at home; her son, Haakon Soggie of Oneida; step-daughter, Blythe (Jonathan) Hughes of Alpha; grandchildren, Logan, Finn, Amelia and Margarette Hughes; and sisters, Nancy Scalf of South Carolina and Paula Williamson of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Larson.

Chris was a 1983 graduate of Knoxville High School. She attended Carl Sandburg College until 1984, studying accounting and business. Chris received her Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Finance from University of North Texas in 1987. She was an accounting associate for Phillips Lighting in Carlton, TX from 1987-1995. She then went on to be an accounting associate for Smurfit-Stone of Galesburg from 2000-2005. Chris was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed shopping, being outside on the farm and especially enjoyed spoiling her pets and the grandkids.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville.  Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory have been entrusted with the arrangements.
