Charles M. "Monty" Martin

Charles M. “Monty” Martin, 64, of Galesburg, passed away with his wife at his side on Thursday, October 21, 2021, 12:25 PM, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center. Monty was born on July 1, 1957 in Galesburg. He was the son of Charles and Janet (Steck) Martin. Monty married Susan Rose Grzanich on September 3, 1977 in Canton. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage. Monty is survived by his wife, Susan at home; his children, Anthony “Antwon” R. Martin of Texas and Caleb “Cameo” Martin of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Monty was a graduate of Galesburg High School. He worked in the warehouse at Dick Blick for 21 years until his retirement. In his free time, Monty liked to read and draw cartoon characters. He loved his cats. Cremation Rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM, Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory have been entrusted with his arrangements. Memorials may be donated to the American Diabetes Association or to the Knox County Guardian Angels.
