Carolyn M. Strang, age 47, of Maquon, Illinois, died at 11:44 A.M. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois. Carolyn was born on October 20, 1968 at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the daughter of Timothy and Sandra Pelott Martin. She was raised in Florida, and graduated from Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Florida. She married Daniel Strang on April 21, 1995 in Pasadena, Maryland. Surviving is her husband, Daniel Strang of Maquon, Illinois; one son, Shane Austin Strang of Maquon, Illinois; her mother, Sandra (Ken Dewey) Pelott of Fitchburg, Wisconsin; one brother Timothy (Tony) Jimerez of Dania Beach, Florida; one half-brother, Eric Martin of Slidell, Louisiana; three adopted sisters, Pamella (Paul) Bernand of Maquon, Illinois, Dawn (Gerald) Zerphey of Maquon, Illinois, and Lori (Dave) Bybee of Maquon, Illinois; two adopted step-daughters, Nicole Herman of Pasadena Maryland and Jillian Rhue of Pasadena, Mayland. She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter, Shelby A. Strang on November14, 2015. She attended Broward Community College in Florida. She worked at the Publix Supermarket in the Photo Department and for Strang Trucking as the officer manager and dispatcher. She helped out at the Maquon United Methodist Church and was a Cheer Mom in Glen Burnie, Maryland. As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Family. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory, Knoxville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
