Brenda J. Kelso

Brenda J. Kelso, 72, of Knoxville, Illinois passed away Monday, May 2, 2015 at 11:53 A.M. at the River Crossings Nursing Home in Galesburg, Illinois. Brenda was born March 18, 1944 in Brookfield, Missouri the daughter of Lee and Mildred (Webb) Hodges. She married Bert Kelso on April 15, 1960 in Dahinda, Illinois. Brenda was a longtime member of the Galesburg Moose Lodge #880. She was schooled in art by Marilyn Blaze. Brenda loved many forms of art including painting. She also enjoyed yardwork, gardening, and her boat trips. Brenda is survived by her husband; Bert Kelso of Knoxville, Illinois, 2 children; Russell Kelso of Galesburg, Illinois, Connie Godfrey of Galesburg, Illinois, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 5 siblings; Jerry (and Sandy) Blackwell of Galesburg, Illinois, Gary (and Jean) Hodges of Thayer, Missouri, Marlene (and Mike) Keiser of Knoxville, Illinois, Cecile (and Curtis) Marshall of Galesburg, Illinois, and Randy Hodges of Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Mildred Hodges, and her daughter, Sereta Jefferson. “Be there, no sorrow miss me and remember me, all my chores have been done. I go now. Love you all”. Brenda Joyce Blackwell Kelso Cremation rites will be accorded with the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. A service will be held at a later date.
