KNOXVILLE, ILLINOIS Betty A. Stutler, 77, of Knoxville, Illinois, died at 11:45 A.M., Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois. Betty was born on June 3, 1938 in rural Gilson, Illinois, the daughter of Elwood Nelson and Stella May Pruett. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1946. She married Thomas Moore in 1957, and then married Bernard Stutler in November of 1977. Betty is survived by her children, Julie (Michael) Strom of Victoria, Illinois, Jeff (Joanie) Moore of Schaumburg, Illinois, Justin (Lori) Moore of Oneida, Illinois and Barry (Elizabeth) Stutler of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Angela (Tyler) Snow, Tabatha Beardsley, Cody Strom, Randy Moore, Tyson Moore, Brittney Moore, Jason Moore, Isaac Stutler and Merril Stutler; 4 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Shirley Kelso of Galesburg, Illinois, Raymond (Lynda) Nelson of Gilson, Illinois and Jack Nelson of Knoxville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, William Nelson and her grandson, Kevin Moore. Betty worked for Dr. Jenson, Superintendent for two years after her graduation. Betty then worked for Gil Hebard for three years, Bernard Stutler for eight years and the Hill Correctional Center for 24 and a half years as a stenographer. She then retired on June 30, 2012. She played for the Orange Chapel Church for 28 years. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, Illinois. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Michel Clark will officiate. Burial will follow at the Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
