Betty Lucille Knox, age 87 of Fulton, Missouri, formerly of Maquon, Illinois died at 1:18 am on April 15, 2016 at Fulton Manor Care Center in Fulton, Missouri. Betty was born on May 19, 1928 in Maquon, Illinois the daughter of Benjamin and Lemona Huber Kemper. She was reared and educated in Maquon, Illinois. She married George W. Knox on August 23, 1948 in Elmwood, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1992. Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-laws: George F. and Linda Knox of Gilson, Illinois, Dale and Jodene Knox of Warrenton, Missouri, Walter and Stephanie Knox of Maquon, Illinois, Paul and Tennessa Knox of Maquon, Illinois, Glen and Starla Knox of Holiday, Florida; Son-in-law, William Schumaker of Maquon, Illinois; daughters and son-in-law, Frances and Dale Weir of Fulton, Missouri and Lola Stevens of Yates City, Illinois; thirty grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Rosemary Kemper. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Sylvia Schumaker, Grandson, Matthew Weir, two sisters, Verna Knox and Edith Hulet, and one brother, Raymond Kemper. She was a member of the Maquon United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Maquon Cemetery Committee. Funeral Services will be on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois. Rev. Krey Leesman and Rev. George Knox will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois. Interment will be at the Maquon Cemetery in Maquon, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maquon United Methodist Church or to the Douglas United Methodist Church.
