Barbara A. Reiber

Barbara A. Reiber, 86, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg. Barbara was born July 12, 1931 in Williamsfield, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Eva (Sopher) Leng. She was a graduate of Williamsfield High School. She worked for many years as a secretary for State Farm Insurance. Barbara married George H. Reiber Jr. on January 6, 1952 at the first Methodist Church in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2012. Barbara is survived by her 5 children; Marty Reiber of Oneida, Jim Reiber of Galesburg, Terry (Larry) Cross of Henderson, Cindy (Bruce) Quarterman of Galesburg, Gary Reiber of St. Cloud, Florida, 6 grandchildren; Craig (Stephanie) Reiber, Christy Reiber, Cody, Reiber, Elyse Quarterman, Caitlyn (Philly) Baughman, Branden Reiber, 5 great-grandchildren; Graham Reiber, Braxten Cheney, Kohyn Baughman, Elizabeth Reiber, Parker Baughman. She was preceded in death by her husband; George H. Reiber Jr., parents; Carl and Eva Leng, and brother; Amos Leng. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded with the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorial contributions can be left to either the Rosewood Care Center or donor’s choice.
