Anthony Mendez

Anthony Angelo Mendez, best father, best friend and best grandfather, age 73, died Friday evening around 6:45 p.m. May 4, 2018, in Hudson. He was born Jan. 11, 1945, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Ferdel Angelo and Patricia Cabrera Mendez. He married Victoria Jo Perry on Sept. 5, 1981, in Galesburg. She preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Anthea Diaz of Houston, Jessica Mendez of Largo, and Mathew Mendez of Hudson; and four grandchildren who were his world. He was preceded in death by one son, Tony, at the age of 9 in 1988. He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army and was a retired machinist.
