Allen Ray Kelso

Allen Ray Kelso, age 72, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away Friday, January 6, 2018 at 6:57 P.M. at the OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Allen was born July 15, 1945 in Dahinda, Illinois, the son of Enos and Golda (Howard) Kelso. He proudly served his country as a member of The United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He married Connie Haynes on November 28, 1969 at the Galesburg Covenant Church. He was a member of the Living Light Church in Roseville, Illinois. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved watching wrestling. Many will remember him as a practical joker. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Kelso of Knoxville, Illinois, 2 children, Brian (Tammy) Kelso of Carlock, Illinois, Annette (Bill Belleville) Kelso of East Galesburg, Illinois, 3 grandchildren, Haley Kelso, Hayden Kelso, Karley Kelso, 2 brothers, Wilbur Dean Kelso of Maquon, Illinois, Roger (Ree) Kelso of Abingdon, Illinois, 1 sister, Pam (Bud) Starnes of Maquon, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Golda Kelso, 4 brothers, Jim Kelso, Don Kelso, Earl Kelso, and Gary Kelso. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois; the memorial service will directly follow at 7:30 P.M.
