Karen Tarochione

October 16, 1943 - February 6, 2022

Karen Tarochione, 78, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 6, 2022. She leaves behind her husband of 48 years, James (Tack) Tarochione; two daughters, Lisa Windish-Gregg (Johnny Salazar) of Mobile, Al., Laura Windish (Mark Zobeck) of Moline, Il.; one son, Tony Tarochione of Davenport, Ia.; one sister, Judie Ramirez of Crossville, Tn., a great aunt, Marjorie Mudd of Mount Vernon, Il.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Betty Cramer of Woodhull, Il. as well as her and Tack’s beloved dog Teddy. Karen loved helping people in need and spent many years in the healthcare field; including as a medical assistant for Dr. Robert Hickerson, a wheelchair consultant at Action Medical and as the Admission’s Coordinator at Seminary Manor. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team and attended games for both. She was always up for a road trip and attended several concerts and puppy adoption meetings with Laura. She cheered for Tony when he was playing baseball and was so excited to visit him when he was living on the east coast. Throughout her life, Karen loved creating beautiful spaces and was passionate about decorating year round, but especially with the changing seasons and for the holidays. She loved Christmas and always had a festive tree sitting in the bay window of the living room. It made her so happy to have people comment on how much they liked seeing the tree from the road as they drove by the house. She enjoyed sitting on the porch, at home or at Lisa’s house in Mobile and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. She adored her two young next door neighbors, Brooklyn and Jack, and loved to watch them play and listen to their stories. Karen loved and was loved by many and will forever be in our hearts.
