James L. Hutchison

James L. Hutchison, age 83, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 11:20 P.M. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Comfort Home in McAllen, Texas. James was born on July 29, 1936 in Newton, Iowa the son of Clarence and Mary (Park) Hutchison. On August 26, 1960 he married Marlene L. Little in Knoxville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2006. Surviving is a daughter, Denise E. (Wayne) Hensley of Galesburg, Illinois and a son, Brian J. (Julie) Hutchison of Galesburg, Illinois; five grandchildren: Matthew Hensley, Jacob Hensley, Sierra Hutchison, William Hutchison, and Nathanial Hutchison; a sister, Alice Johnson of Galesburg, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Raymond Nelson of Gilson, Illinois; and a special companion, Elizabeth Olson of New Brighton, Minnesota; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister, Lynda Nelson. He worked as an Operating Engineer in construction for the Local 649. He was a member of the OAKS in Galesburg, Illinois and Young’s Lake in Kirkwood, Illinois. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and playing cards; he spent his winters in Texas. He was a member of the Knoxville United Methodist church in Knoxville, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 27, 2020 with a Funeral Services at 2:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Mary Runge will officiate. Interment will be in the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Comfort House at 1617 West Dallas Avenue, McAllen, Texas 78501.
