Heath John McGovern

Heath John McGovern, age 51, of Galesburg, Illinois, died on May 21, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 25, 1966 in Spearfish, South Dakota, the son of Donald and Mary L. (Roebuck) McGovern. He graduated from Yates City High School. On May 16, 1989, he married Ann McNamara in Davenport, Iowa. Heath is survived by his father, Donald McGovern of rural Maquon, Illinois; two daughters: Katherine (William Jenkins) McGovern of Pekin, Illinois, Amanda McGovern of North Aurora, Illinois; two grandchildren: Keegan and Ainsley; three siblings: Kelley (Nathan) Kohring of Washington, D.C., Daniel (Charlet) McGovern of Pekin, Illinois, Anita (David) Novak of Brimfield, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary McGovern; and one sister, Tammy. Heath worked in sales throughout his life. He enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid Cubs fan. He also enjoyed cooking out and loved spending time with his family. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Maquon Cemetery in Maquon, Illinois, Rev. Krey Leesman officiating. Interment will be at the Maquon Cemetery in Maquon.
