Christine M. Griswold, 50, of Galesburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, 8:18 AM at OSF St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by her family. Christine was born on August 8, 1970 in Canton. She was the daughter of Richard and Lorena (Ford) Jump. Christine married Richard “Rich” Griswold on April 28, 2012 in Canton. She is survived by her loving husband, Rich; and son, Luke; siblings, Rick (Debbie) Jump, Vicki Brown, Robert Jump, Johnny (Tamy) Jump and Cindy (Mike) Stufflebean, all of Canton. Christine was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Debbie Jump, Randy Jump, Thomas Jump and David Jump. Christine was a 1988 graduate of Canton High School. She was a Children’s Pastor for the Wesley United Methodist Church of Canton. After moving to Galesburg, Christine worked as a jeweler sales associate for Kohl’s Diamond Gallery, she then went on to become a receptionist for Ladner Orthodontics. Christine joined the team at the First Christian Church of Galesburg, and worked as their office manager. She was a member of the First Church of Nazarene. Christine volunteered as a troop leader for Luke’s Cub Scout troop. She loved her dogs, Slingshot and Oakley, they never left her side. She also loved to work in her yard, go camping, boating out on the lake and spending time with her family and friends. Christine was an amazing selfless person, who was constantly putting the needs of others before her own. She never knew a stranger and was able to make friends easily. She had a big heart and loved people. Most importantly, Christine had a love for Jesus Christ. Her faith meant everything to her. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm, on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the First Christian Church, 301 N Broad Street, Galesburg. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 6 pm at the church. Pastor Mary Jane Fitch will officiate. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial may be made to the family or to the First Christian Church of Galesburg. Due to COVID-19 social distancing and face masks will be required.
