Geoffrey W. Hurd, CFSP, MBIE Manager
Geoffrey is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He graduated from the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois in 1984 with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. He has been employed by the Hurdco, Inc. for most of his 24 years in the funeral business.
Geoffrey is active in the Illinois Funeral Directors Association and served as it's President from June 0f 2007 until June of 2008. He is also a member of the Ethics Association.
Geoffrey was awarded the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) in 1998 by the Academy of Professional Funeral Servicer Practice. Its goals; to recognize those practioners who have volunterly entered into a program of personal and professional growth, to raise and improve the standards of funeral services, and to encourage practitioners to make continuing education a life-long process in their own self interest, the interest of the families they serve, and the community in which they serve.

George W. Hurd and his wife Marilyn. Mr. Hurd is pictured here recieving his 50-year Certificate from the Illinois Funeral Directors Associaton in June of 2011. George and Marilyn have served the area communities for over 30 years.
Matt Gohlinghorst Funeral Director
Matt Gohlinghorst was born and raised on his family’s farm south of Galesburg. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 2002 and went on to receive his B.A. in business administration from Monmouth College in 2006. Matt then went to mortuary school and graduated in 2008 from Carl Sandburg College’s Mortuary Science Program. Matt is married to Jaque who is a school teacher in Galesburg and they have one son Clay. They live on the family farm where they are the sixth and seventh generations to live there. Matt enjoys working outside, 4 wheeling, and trap shooting.

Zoie Gilbertson Administrative Assistant / Funeral Director Apprentice
Zoie Gilbertson was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 2013. She went on to Carl Sandburg College and graduated from the Mortuary Science Program in 2015. Zoie is continuing her education to receive a Bachelor`s Degree in Science. Zoie is currently employed at the firm and handles all aspects of administrative work; she is also an Apprentice Funeral Director. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Oliver.
