LaJune Nelson, age 83, of 1775 Clay Drive, Galesburg, Illinois died on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 5:15 P.M. at Marigold Rehab & Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on June 23, 1927 in Aledo, Illinois, the daughter of Wayne H. and Lydia Jackson Tribler. She married Richard W. Nelson on February 14, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois. He survives of Galesburg, Illinois.
Also surviving are one son, David W. Nelson of Galesburg, Illinois; one sister, Marilyn Welch of Galesburg, Illinois and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Jean Ann Sanders and one daughter-in-law: Lynn Pattison Nelson.
She graduated from Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Illinois in 1945. She was a homemaker and worked at Illinois Camera Shop in Galesburg, Illinois when she was first married. She attended First Lutheran Church in Galesburg, Illinois and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed country music, traveling, yard work, watching squirrels and birds. She was a good housewife.
Cremation Rites will be accorded.
There will be no services at this time. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois in charge of arrangements.
